I'm closing in on purchasing a Smith 500 for general use. ![]() I'm selecting the 4" barrel and a cross chest holster for concealed carry- it works for me and my body type. I've got a line on some rounds that are home defense quality and easier for follow up shooting. WWW.BALLISTICSUPPLY.NET > 500 Smith & Wesson ( DNN 2.1.2 ) I might trade in my AK for part of it- still going through the details online.. Anybody else ever thought of a .50 pistol for grins and giggles? |

Hey Pointman, did you know S&W makes a 10mm revolver now? And I believe it's Para that makes a 10mm 1911. Thought you might wanna know. But... 4" barrel? The one they have at Wade's for rental has an insane barrel, it must be a foot long easy! And that's just the barrel! |

My only thought on something like this for a carry weapon is overpenetration. I've seen them at the gun shows and saw a guy with one at the range, but I've never fired one. |

They are almost "common" in alaska, alot of shore river fishermen use it for the brown bear defense, never actually seen one shot but looks fun
