Looks exactly like the P238 (380). It's a mere .4" longer, but is 9mm.

I've been waiting right at a year for a stainless Kimber Solo.... it just showed up. Now I see the P938... I love Sig Sauers. They always work.

It's single action only. Exposed hammer, ie; cocked and locked

Has anyone shot one of these yet?

LOL! Yea... I've only been waiting for a year to get the stainless Solo.. it took too long. Now Sig is gonna make the gun I wanted in the first place.

In the mean time, I'm gonna get a Kimber Ultra Carry CDP II..

I haven't been happy with my LC9 the way I am with my LCP, so I think it's on the trading block. I was thinking of a Kahr CM9, but now I'm inclined to wait for this new SIG. Granted it's a bit more money, but hey it's a mini 1911! My biggest beef with the LC9 is the trigger, it feels even longer & heavier than my LCP, and the shot doesn't break until the trigger is nearly touching the rear of the trigger guard. Very difficult to not yank the shot low, and that's during deliberate practice. Under stress, it would be worse I'm sure. A single action would be a huge improvement.

Maybe someday I'd even get it a little baby brother P238. ;)

I'm a big sig guy. I own lots of them, But I'd probably go EMP. I'm thinking I'd rather have a gun downsized from .45 than a gun upsized from .380.

you shut your canadian loving mouth!!!!!!!!!

ha ha.. what's up suckka.. I need to get up that way and see your offspring.

I'd tend to agree on the downsize vs. upsize.. the Sig P938 looks tits, but the grip looks a little wide in the pics.

I'd like to get one in my hand (esp with some hogue, or pachmayr grips on it)

Laser grip might be nice as well?

The EMP is sweet but it's still bigger and heavier than the P938. All depends on what you want it for.

And really, if the gun is engineered for the 9mm round, does it really matter if it's from up or down? Like SIG is gonna do it wrong?

Pete- in many cases guns that are upsized have reliability issues. We shoot Glock 22's which is basically a G17 they put .40 cal into. Lots of breakage. Pins, slide stops and recoil springs. Beretta 92 works well (with good mags) but the 96 is a dog. Conversely, the hk usp was originally designed in .40 and then adapted to 9 but no problems with either caliber.

This isn't the problem it used to be because now most manufacturers are developing for the larger caliber then adapting as .40 is all the rage. Sig still makes lemons. Their new 229 with the long extractor appears to be plagued with problems, the last round in the mag hang up on newer 220s is still an issue and I never could get my 556 to work with anything but full on 5.56 loads which appeared to be a common problem. Sig has decent customer service though so I'm sure they'll do their best to make it right......if they can.

I hear ya... I wouldn't wanna be the first kid on the block to get one. Nor would this be a duty gun that sees thousand and thousands of rounds through it.

Funny you never hear about these issues is gun magazines? Every thing they test is utterly reliable and never have any issues ever. :hmmmm2:

I didn't realize that Sig changed the P229. Don't know why they would... mine works flawlessly.
I agree with Pete though.. you never hear about these issues when you read the magazines, the reviews are damn near always glowing...

As an EMP owner, I can tell you that they have had their share of troubles too. Usually, they need to be sent in for poor extraction issues. Mine was ejecting brass almost straight at my face until I worked on the extractor. Don't get me wrong, they are very nice guns. But they aren't always perfect out of the box.

I am very interested in the P938 and can't wait to be able to check one out.
