I enjoy my Springfield 1911 milspec and I'd like to get something like it in 10mm. What are my options for this? I'd rather not spend more that $900.

Welcome to the forum! As for a 1911 chambered in 10mm, there are quite a few options. Do a search for "1911 .45 to 10mm conversion" or something like that and you'll find several conversion kits (assuming you have a 1911 you're looking to convert) -- ranging from high end/priced forged stuff to low end/priced cast parts. Prices vary all over the place on these so you should be able to find what you're after. There are also ready made 10mm 1911s you can get. The other guys will probably know of way more than I do, but the Colt Delta Elite and Kimber 10mm are the first that come to mind... |

Rock Island Tactical 10mm. It's a hell of a lot of gun for $600.

If you go Kimber, look the particular gun over _very_ carefully before you pay the money. My dad recently bought one of the Team Match IIs in .45, and had some serious problems with it due to very poor finishing work on the barrel (crown was totally effed up, and had the "wave" just in front of the chamber from machining the lugs). My current Custom II has a big ding in the slide rails on the frame that I didn't catch until it was too late. I have had two Kimbers and have generally been very happy with them, just a little "know before you go". |

My desert warrior has been flawless but I've had it since 2005 I think. I've seen some newer guns that have been problem filled. Hard to move away colt or the nicer springers when the price point is so close.
