Kinda fell into a Taurus PT1911

Traded for some Magazines

thing is 2-3 magazines through shooting it (was told had 30rds through it) the ambi safety comes apart.

though google has a ton of info on it, just wondering if any of you fellas have dealt with same issue?

Hey Norm, this is Mark,

I have a PT1911 ss, never had one issue with it and I have probably 2-3k through it. I have heard of a little trick about ever soo slightly closing the *female* side to help it hold together. Also wondering if it has original grips, the factory ones have a little groove to hold the right side safety in. I put Hogue single piece grip on mine, nice investment.

My step dads original 1911 had the safety come apart. We sent it to taurus and they fixed it free of charge. They also paid the shipping. Never had the problem again.

ok.
Footnotes.
first call was on hold for 10 mins~ hung up
Called back asked operator best time to call she replied 1900
called back at 1900 phone rang once, very helpful. asked series of questions.

reply- Taurus has a lifetime warranty on the weapon, not the owner...beings the gun is actually less than 90 days old according to the serial number they sent me a fed ex shipping label via email for next day shipping to miami.

replied "have a nice day and Carry on"

will go out tomorrow.

will update
