Not trying to piss on anyone's cheerios, but I had an LC9 and just didn't like it. The grip was just too small, even for my small hands, making recoil feel overly snappy and hard to control the gun in any kind of rapid fire. Long DAO trigger didn't help matters. And my grip seemed to ride the mag release just a tad, so when I'd shoot to slide stop it would drop the mag out.
So I sold it and got an M&P Shield (also 9mm) and IMO it is hands down a better gun. Shoots way better, very accurate, fits my hand great, holds more ammo (one or two rounds, depending on mag). Not to mention it's a 'duty grade' gun where the LC9 is not.
Dimensions are very similar, though the LC9 is a tad slimmer and a few ounces lighter. For some, that might be important. For me the tradeoff in shootability is no contest, I'll take the Shield. Just my $.02
