9mm oal length

Depends on the bullet profile. For example, the OAL is going to be a scosh longer with HP vs RN, or FMJ.

Unfortunately because I'm not at home right now I don't have my notes (or books) to give you an exact figure.

I use an OAL of 1.090 with Rem 115g JHP's and Rem 124g JHP's.
For this load i use CCI SPP and a charge of 4.4 grains of W231.

They work very well in Browning Hi-Powers, S&W 5906's and Sig Sauer's.

My family and i use these loads not only for practice, but carry use as well. I do not see a practical use for lighter loads for practice, if you use a full power load for carry use.

I think it is much better to practice with the exact load you use for daily carry.

My Lyman reloading handbooks lists the OAL of a 9mm FMJ at 1.169 and 1.090 for a 115g JHP.

My COL depends on the bullet and the gun.
One note of caution: I have used a starting load in one manual that was definitely max or over, so I always start with the lowest charge I can find and work up. Never assume that the manual's max load is the same as yours.

I load to 1.150 over 3.8-4.0gn of Universal Clays with 135gn Bear Creek moly bullets.

Works well, shoots soft. There are plenty of recipes that you can load shorter, but I wouldn't load much longer or you'll run into feeding problems. Many mags can't handle the extra COL.
