w00t! Ready to blow myself up!

I finally have acquired enough shit to finally start reloading!

Picked up the Lee Crimp Die yesterday at Cabela's, along with powder, and some 60gr Vmax.

Today I picked up a Tumbler at bi-mart (The cheap Franks Arsenal one). Was 44.95 or something. Picked up 10 lbs of fine walnut bedding (Tumbler media!) at Petco for 7 bucks. w00t! LOL

I now have all my dies I need to start (I will need to do powder by hand, can't use the auto loader until my charge die comes, but that's fine!).

I'm so stoked. Tomorrow I play!

Maybe later. I am reorganizing my office right now, so that it is a bit more, well, clean... To many boxes and shit taking up space. I need to get rid of this damned server rack and the servers as well. I don't use them anymore.

Well at least set up a camera when you start the reloading so we can see the carnage when you go boom!

Welp, here is my first full batch!

Cases = Once Fired PMC Brass (Fired by meh), Cleaned, Tumbled, inspected, measured, primer pockets reamed (crimped primers) and cleaned.

Powder = 22.3gr H322
Bullet = Hornady 60gr V-Max

First 50 are hand measured, as I was still waiting on the Rifle Charging Die from Lee. Well that came in yesterday, and after spending time setting up my Auto Disk Measure, and double checking the charge, I loaded the other 50 yesterday (Actually 48, 2 of the bullets are uncharged, non primered for refrence).

Talk about a world of difference just in time!

Now I'm looking at getting the Dillon Super Swage 600 to deal with these pesky crimped primer pockets, as it gets a bit tiring doing it by hand!

Nope!

It's based off of Load Data by Hornady, so I am going to trust it well enough for my crappy shooting!

More than anything I'm just loading crap to load crap right now! As long as it does not blow up my gun, I will be happy!

FYI load data is a suggested load, NOT what will shoot best out of your gun.. Youll learn

If you take those out and get 4"+ groups out of them, they will not be fun to shoot, and pulling all them apart will be less fun.

There are alot of variables to get lined out before mass producing typically.

Just trying to help you out before you get any further ahead of yourself, always test the load before loading them all up. Ive had recommened book loads range from 4"+ groups, then others shoot <1/4" groups, this being at 100yds.. always test :) And just my personal experience, the recommended most accurate load, isnt for me

Oh, don't get me wrong. I know exactly where you are coming from, and I really do appreciate the words of wisdom. I'm just too lazy to want and buy a bullet puller atm, and pull them. Especially since, as long as they fire, I can just use them up shooting at random shit some place outside of the range (As soon as I find a random place!).

As soon as I get a selection of powders, primers, bullets and some more time to spend at the range, and some cases I don't have to ream the damned primer pockets, I'll spend more time really trying to test and load for my different barrels.

Right now, it is the 8 year old on Christmas Day phase. LOL

with pistol rounds using the suggested load might not make your action cycle. then you would be stuck with a bunch of rounds that need to be pulled and rebuilt.

did you watch my video yet? there is 4 parts:

Update...

I didn't blow myself up! I went out to the range today, and fired off some shots.

Of my 60gr, I was shooting 3/4 inch groupings or better
Of my 50gr, About the same...

Of the 55gr FMJBT, that I actually made as a light load, with not much umph, they shot the worse at around 2.5 inch groupings.

The 60's shot real nice in both my 20" 1/8 and my 16" 1/7.
50's shot well in my 20" 1/8, OK in my 1/7 (that was expected)
55's I only shot out of the 1/8.

I am going to play with the 55gr's a lot. Next time I go out, I am going to take 4 or 5 different batches.

The batch I took out today, was only 5 rounds, and I did it a couple nights ago and didn't have time since to make any other batches.

I was only at 50 yards. Was going to jump over to the 100 yard range, but instead packed up and didn't want to unpack again just to pack up again.

I kinda like 50 yards, I can actually see where I hit on the target without a spotting scope!

God I can't wait until I get a damned scope for these damned guns!

I like the way the bullet holes in the black center are highlighted by the fluorescent green underlay. It really makes them stand out. I wonder if that's by design or just a happy coincidence?
