Kahr CM9

Picked up a CM9 on 8-6-2011. After hearing some good things about Kahr pistols. I decided to give one a try.

The mag released with tons of drag. That was NOT acceptable for me. But after finding a thread on Kahrtalk.com about swell at the top of the mags. A quick check confirmed that was my problem. Quick pinch with the channellocks, problem solved!

Now for the best part. I expected it to be pretty snappy. After having owned a Kel-Tech PF9. Definitely not the case with the kahr. Minimal recoil, and drops right back down to my aim point.

In the past week I have put 850 rounds through the pistol. Not a single issue. Varied FMJ stuff for the first 200 rounds. Blazer, PMC, Winchester, and Remington. This thing eats everything I put in it.

For carry rounds. I varied these also. Cor-Bon, Winchester Supreme Elite, Federal HST, and Hornady TAP FDP.

The 124 grain Hornady TAP was by far the most accurate in my gun (yours may differ).

Well after a week on the trigger 0 reliability issues. And 850 rounds down range. The CM9 has proven itself as a keeper. And will be the new EDC of choice.

Was it overly tight for the first couple hundred + rounds? I keep hearing stories about "break in" with the Kahr..

How the gun now after you've had it for awhile??? Any user pics?? I'm concidering this one.

It has been great. I tried to carry one of my larger framed guns now r
that it is cooler. But the Kahr is so comfortable to carry it is my go to everyday.

As far as reliability. I have 2,050 rounds through it now. No problems at all.
I will be picking one up for my wife this winter. Also after shooting mine three of my buddies have also bought a CM9. No problems with any of them.

Thanks. Any user pics to see how it looks after 2,000+ rounds??? Still like the Theis holster??

Looks like brand new. I'll get some pics. up.

The Theis holster is the most comfortable IWB holster I have. You literally forget you have the Kahr on.

I'll post some pics. of my OWB holsters also. Both ride high and tight. And conceal easily.

The only modification I have done. Is add a front night sight. Kahr offers the front Trijicon sight for $30. I am not into night sights. Just wanted a metal sight up front. Installed myself very easily.

Hi Stumprat,

Thanks for your pics and all the info on the CM9. I am looking at picking up a Kel-Tec PF9 for a primary EDC, I've been looking at the CM9 as well. However, cost is a pretty big limiter for me, so I would have to save a little longer to be able to get the CM9. I was wondering if you think it's worth it to save up the extra $200 for the CM9 or to get the Kel-Tec first, from your experience with the two guns. Thanks,

Nathan

Definitely worth the wait. You won't regret it.
