Hey Guys, I finally bought my first shotgun this past Sunday. It's nothing special, but it's mine and now I don't have to always use other peoples shotguns. Except maybe my buddies Super Eagle... Love that thing.Anyways, I got a Mossberg 500 and want to pick up a few accessories for it. I'm hoping you guys can help a brotha out here with some websites, or places here local that I could pick up some stuff at. Specifically looking for:
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Jason |

How long is the barrel, and how long is the mag tube? You can get shorter barrels, and longer mag tubes.. to hold more shells, and make the gun more maneuverable in close quarters.. You could definately grab a forgrip with a light.. and do a bunch of silly stuff with the stock.. but for home defense, keep it simple. Lots of shells and practice with it! Home defense and screwin around in the woods tossin clay pigeons. I have 2 barrels, one of them is 18 1/2" and I can't remember if the other one is 26" or 28" Mag tube, I'll have to check the length... Stay tuned. I may also take it out duck hunting this year for the hell of it. |

I may have missed it but does it take a 3" or 2 3/4" shell?

im sure they make extensions for them...well maybe but...my friend bought an extension for his 870 and then saw that to be able to use it he had to file out some notches in the tube..he didnt want to deface the gun so he never used it.

500 Moss. is a fine 12 ga. for the money. 2 3/4 " chamber. Lots of fun. And 2 barrels. Mine has the pistol grip, barrel heat shield, 3 point sling, flashlight and laser with pressure mounts on foregrip. Seems to work..Now if I can just figure out how to post pics.. |

Depending on the model it's either 6/1 or 8/1 you really dont need anymore than that haha.. As for ghost rings, when I bought my 590 a couple years ago I thought about getting them, but for a good set it'll set you back over $100 which really didn't seem worth it, you have a small bead at the end of the barrel already.. I mean it's a shotgun it's point and shoot, although I will say they do look kinda cool. I too am looking for a good sling, Cheaper than dirt had a good sling that came with detachable swivels it was only like $15 but they have been out of stock for months..
