So I went ahead and bought one, cuz it's as cheap as converting a perfectly good shotgun. It swaps barrels with my dads Winchester 1300 but the magazine tubes are different sizes and lengths, so while the barrels match up, they are not interchangeable.

I recon it will shoot like the 1300, that've been if ere I see the sweet sunshine upon my face long enough to do such a thing.

I also bought a cheap laser sight that rail mounts at the gun show for $25. While it currently sits before the trigger on my 9, it will eventually come to rest upon the side of the savage, providing she proves trusty. I think attachments will be like any healthy addiction, always one more thing.

While we're on the subject, ghost rings or just keep the bead?

Cool! I like your style. Put up a thread asking for opinions. Get none. Go out and buy the thing to find out for yourself.

I'm anxious to hear how it shoots.

Not much of an opinion on sights, but I would assume it would come with ghost rings rather than just a bead. Interesting...

I have a couple shotguns.. haven't shot a stevens yet... but have looked at them.

I don't have one with a red dot, but I have a hi-glo bead on my winchester 1300. It works great in daylight.. and when I hit the light at night it lights up... I pretty much hit whatever I'm pointing at.. so I haven't really looked into a more complicated setup?
