ya.. I'm skeptical...
I am all for new firearm designs.. but these little plastic shotguns seem to leave a little to be desired once they leave the 3D model phase..
See but that's what made me interested. Read the article, it says the thing weighs 8lbs and is made from a single block of aircraft aluminum.
"CSMC approached the design with the same manufacturing philosophy it uses for all its shotguns—start with a big honking piece of metal and work from there. CSMC already manufactures its own barrels, drilled, not hammer-forged, on steel bars, using custom drill bits designed to minimize chatter and deliver a smoother bore. The receiver for the DP-12 is machined from a solid block of aluminum. Overall, the gun is built like a tank."
This thing may be built sturdier than my KSG. I love my KSG, but this is interesting. Plus it's someone who makes high end doubles already? If anything, the fact that it feeds rounds straight in from the mag tubes will probably make it more reliable than a KSG could ever hope to be.
