who's pointing me to the deer?

it's my first time hunting in washington, and I have no one to point me at some spots.

I'm going to call the state biologist soon and see if I can find some non-overrun spots that produce.

I'm a responsible hunter and I don't complain and I take instructions well.

I'm free all rifle season to be anywhere in the state of WA.

so....who needs company?

Deer season over here on the NE side was rough last year. Population was way down from what it was in the past. Good news is that with the mild winter population is doing pretty decent this year. I have seen a few bucks on my property all ready this year. If you are up in the NE I can point you to some areas that are open for hunting, but cant promise deer.

I'm not looking for a promise, just somewhere that's legal, and not overrun, that actually has deer.

I was really thinking about heading all the way east, so I may take you guys up on that offer.

Thanks!

Deer population is fairly down this year... which isn't much help for the west side of the state. However I did some checking on the fish and game website and noticed they are using some of their funding this year to open more land up for hunters. If I remember correctly they are opening about 20K acres east of sedro wooley and I think some other areas as well.

I'm actually going to head out scouting next weekend to another place on the westside.

I got a tip from a forest ranger that I'm going to follow.

I still think an eastside trip is in the works though.
