So i went to buy a new gun at kesselring. They say it will be 10 days before I can get my new gun. Does anyone know why kesselring has a 10 day wait. Should it not be 5 days. Also, I've seen some say that the 5 days is work days, but I dont see that it is "work days" defined in the laws. Thanks |

maybe it's better to tell you longer so you don't get pissed off when they can't deliver on day 5 ??? WA State Licensing: Firearms Purchase/Delivery Requirements I believe the 5 days is "Working Days" it only takes about a week to get your CPL and with a CPL you can normally leave with your gun the day you purchase it (depends on how backed up NICS is) |

I think it is s.o.p. to say pick up after 10 days. It is a lot faster *usually* these days because the dealer can fax in the paperwork instead of snail mailing it in. It also has to do with how busy they are doing the background check. The last time I bought a pistol from a dealer, I went in on a Monday morning to buy, and was called Wednesday morning to pick up.

CPL FTW! I've only been waited 2 times, out of maybe 20 purchases since I picked up a CPL. Both waits were during Christmas season, and ironically, both were for single action .22's- the least dangerous weapon in the world. Just goes to show, more than likely you will walk with the weapon same day.
