Anyone knows a good place to shoot in the sticks close to Seattle? I hear about Reiter Pit, how's that?
Pete, Correct me if I'm wrong, but I read somewhere, where everything off of Sultan Basin is now designated a no shooting zone?
I've seen many bullet holes on the gates up there and have heard many shot, but I think it's illegal. The last thing this Asian guy needs is to get into trouble with the law in a rural area.Reiter Pit is an ORV park. Well not an official ORV park, but it is offroad riding area that has bikes, quads, 4x4s etc running all over the place. Not good for shooting.
Sultan Basin is on the way to Reiter, and there are places to shoot up there. Or any number of forest service/fire roads off Hwy 2 beyond Index.
There's also a bunch of places east of North Bend off I-90 as well.
I have time on Sunday actually, I'm not sure what rimfire is but I have an M4 with PCM ammo... Yeah I'm new to the world of recreational shooting.do you have a rim fire firearm and free time on sunday morning ?

Most of rural King County is off limits to "firearm discharge". Hunting in rural areas (during hunting season) is the only exception (you better have a license, the right equipment, etc). Because of this people are careful about disclosing legal locations for recreational shooting. The King County council will place any shooting area off limits as soon as they hear about it
King County has a public policy of attempting to eliminate all shooting sports. They face some limitations because of state gun range laws, but other than that, the County is VERY HOSTILE to shooting sports and firearm ownership in general.
how recently?
It's been posted since '05 at least. Nothing off the paved part was allowed, and only after you crossed the last bridge on the gravel part of the road. Even then, you had to be 100yds from any road. This exempts pretty much all of the "spots" on Sultan Basin Rd. That is a county law, not just for Sultan.how recently?
It's from '05. So IF there were any changes made since then, it won't be much use.according to that map, we were in the clear on sunday.
...and we'll just leave it at that....
thanks for the map. that's actually going to be very useful
