Yeah I plan on getting a owb and mag holder. I'm buying a new gun. All mine are sub compact. But looking at those vid it looks like fun. So can I use a gun with a conversion barrel? 10mm - 40sw?? I think these evens are just for fun not serious competition?? Tia Last edited by ironmike86; 10-25-2011 at 09:02 AM. |

The matches are mostly for fun. There are no prizes or anything given out to the winners. All you get is to say you won. Some of the places, like Paul Bunyan have a raffle after the match. You get a ticket when you sign up for the match and they draw for it after the match is over. Paul Bunyan has been giving away 2 things at each match, a free firearm transfer from a dealer somewhere and 500 pack of bullets, any caliber from Rainier Ballistics.

I'm buying a Glock 29. But I'm gonna put a conversion barrel to practice with 40sw to save on cost. I want a 10mm for the woods. I'm also thinking of a Glock 23 or Springfield Compact. All I have now is subcompacts. The Compact guns are bigger but still small. I won't use a full size as much. At least I will edc a compact. The G29 gives me compact size and different calibers. 40 is what I have most. But if I get a G23 I can use a conversion for 9mm to save on cost also. It's not much more for the 40 for the amount I shoot. But all the vids you post make me want to try. It looks hella fun. Then I may want a 9mm it make bring the cost up alot or try reloading?? Hell I need to go to the range more first and start there. I'm buying a gun soon just want to get something I will use. 500pack of bullets is a nice prize.

I'll check on what division a G29 with a .40 conversion barrel would compete in. I see people all the time with G26 and G27's and they seem to do alright. You are limited to 10 rounds in the mags so the subcompacts are not really at a disadvantage in mag capacity. But they are a little harder to shoot because of their size. 9mm is a lot less expensive to shoot when you are buying factory ammo. Thats one of the reasons I shoot 9mm because I don't reload yet. |

Thats why I was thinking G23. I can get 9mm barrel. I 'm gonna practice with my G27. May try that there. Thats what I carry I should. You have no problem carrying a full size auto? Or you just compete with one? |

I carry the same gun I compete with, XD-9 Service, 4" barrel. I don't have any problem carrying it all day, every day. I've just gotten used to it. I got my first concealed carry permit 22 years ago and since then I have been carrying every day, everywhere I legally can.

Where can I find a schedule for dates and places? Can't find it on any of the idpa sites.
