The next Renton Fun Steel match is Saturday May 12th. I will be the Match Director for this round.

We need help with setting up and some more SO's. If you are an SO, RSO, RO with IDPA, USPSA/IPSC, Cowboys, NRA or Renton Fish & Game Club and want to SO a Squad let me know. If you can be there by 8:30m to help setup that would be very cool too!!

We will have six stages with a total minimum round count of 150 rounds. Bring 200-250 rounds to be on the safe side. You get to shoot each stage 5 times and the your 4 best times count for your score.

The match is held at the Renton Fish & Game Club. Renton Fish and Game Club New Shooters Meeting starts at 9am, Match starts at 10am. Centerfire pistols and .22 rimfire pistols and rifles are allowed. You can shoot up to 2 guns. Match fee is $10 per gun.

I'll be there with a new .22 setup, and my usual XD stuff.

Hoping the .22 runs this time. Spent last night polishing feed ramps to a mirror gloss.

What's the new .22 setup??

I'll be there as well, still deciding what to bring. :)

Tactical Solutions kit for my .45. It didn't run right when I got it, called Tac sol, and they suggested I remove some material from the back of the chamber/ramp. While I was in there, I did a polish job.

I'm honestly not super happy about paying for a $500 kit, $350 for magazines, and the answer to the problem is "Oh, yeah, that happens sometimes in the manufacturing process, you've got some basic gun smithing skills and a dremal right? And 3 hours of your time to **** with it?"

So not to state the obvious, but... a brand new Ruger or Browning .22 would have set you back less, and be 100% reliable. Just sayin. :thefinger:

I priced it out, and without the mags (I went with the most expensive option, I could have gotten them much, much cheaper; on par with ruger/buckmark mags), it would have been about the same price as the Ruger I was looking at.

Once I solve this little problem, I have no doubt it's going to be as or more reliable than buckmark/Mark III.

This gives me a gun that I can reload like a "real" gun, making it a more viable USPSA/IDPA practice tool, and to get a competition trigger on both my .45 and .22 is one price, one trip to the 'smith.

Oh, and I get a threaded barel for a comp/supressor.

I did look at a few model 41s before buying this, but decided "better practice gun" was more important to me than "ultimate bullseye gun"

Oh there you go with your logic and practice gun bullshit! Now you've got me thinking of Kimber's conversion for my Eclipse Custom, which I'm wanting pimp out and turn into more of a target gun anyways. This way it could do double duty. Then maybe I'll just get over it and drill/tap my Ruger .22 for a red dot and that can be my 'open' .22 pistol and the converted Kimber my 'irons' .22 pistol.

I'd look at Advantage Arms or the Marvel kits if the Tactical Solutions is too spendy. Kimber kits are aluminum, wich messes up the balance, and will wear out faster.

Oh, and before you drill/tap your ruger barrel : Pac-Lite Barrel Upgrade for the Ruger 22/45 and MK Series Pistols | Tactical Solutions

A barrel that costs almost as much as whole .22 pistol? I think I'll pass.

Wow, hell, didn't look at the price...

Got the kit running enough to use it Saturday. Works with CCI mini-mags at least. I think a 19lb mainspring is going to make some of the other brands work as well.
