My video from the IDPA match last Saturday in Puyallup.

I had lots of problems at this match... Had jams, hits on no-shoots, total misses and just bad brain fade... But everyone has a bad match now and then, it was just my turn. I finished 4th in ESP/SS.

Wow, looks like a hell of a lot of fun! What's it take to get into that?

Oh, and what are you shooting?

It IS a lot of fun!!

Its easy to get started, just show up early enough to attend the New Shooters Meeting. After that you sign up and shoot the match! New Shooters Meeting starts at 8am at both Renton and Puyallup matches. The next match at Renton is Dec 15th. You should come out! I think the last time I saw you was at a bike night 3 years ago... lol

I'm shooting a XD-9 4" barrel. Its my carry gun too.

So what are the requirements? Do I need to have an outside the waistband holster or anything specific? Any pistol?

8:00 in the morning? **shudder**

Egads! Has it been that long? Wow...

An OWB is best, you will be drawing and reholstering a lot during the day. An IWB works too, just as long as its not a soft, collapsible holster that you have to hold open with a hand while you reholster. Shoulder holsters, cross draw, appendix draw, fanny pack holsters are not allowed. You should also have a couple mag pouches, you can carry mags in your pockets but that makes it really slow and awkward to do reloads, and you will do several reloads during the match.

Pretty much any common defensive type handgun 9mm or above. FN 5.7 are not allowed. Revolvers have to have a barrel 4.2" or less. Bring about 200 rounds. The match will last till about 2-3pm, people are expected to help after the match to break down and put everything away. Entry fee is $15, the match at Puyallup will sometimes have prize drawings after the match is over.

You only have to be there before 8am once each at Renton and Puyallup. After that you can show up anytime before registration closes, which is usually right before 10am.

Probably the Glock 21 as it has a decent capacity...

(I was originally thinking of my M&P Shield because I appendix carry with it.)

G21 would be good. Max you can load is 10 rounds in your mags, 10+1 on your 1st mag. If running a 1911 45 the the max is 8 rounds in the mags.

Minimum is 12 years old for the match.

Let me know if you want me to find a holster for you.

Got me an OWB holster (and mag carrier), so I'm good to go.

Hey, if you don't mind starting a new thread for this that would be cool. I'm planning on attending. The only thing that could prevent me is not getting up or not knowing where to go. :)
