Oh wow! I thought new shooter meeting was at 8:30. Thanks for letting me know, I'll be sure to be there at 8:00 instead. It'll be my son's first shoot. 
Guys, I would love it if a few of you would come to the next one. I had so much fun today -- easily my best shoot. And it was the first time I tried running the M&P Shield.
Why wasn't I running the Glock you might ask? Good question. Good question... Well, today was my son's first IDPA shoot. And while he got DQ'd in the first stage (muzzle violation) they took mercy on him and let him shoot the rest of the day, although he was not officially scored.
Watching him go from stage to stage, experiencing the rules, becoming more confident, etc. was awesome! I mean, I was actually impressed with his shooting, but it was the procedural stuff that he improved on dramatically as the day went on. He's hooked!
