I payed 289.99 for the gun.

I'm so excited! I can't wait to shoot it, probably early next week at a bulls eye range in Tacoma.

It's a 9mm, but I can take you up on that some day if you'd still like.

Congratulations! I've heard many rave reports about the Hi-Point 9mm. Good pick -- it should serve you well!

I've been thinking about getting one in 45 as well

did you buy it on gunbroker.com or another online source and have it shipped?
or purchase it thru Boomsticks FFL in Graham?

I wonder if he can get that price on a 45?

I've seen these popping up on the forums, where are these types of guns being used? Are they primarily target guns or tactical?

i had one of these weapons in 40 cal - it jammed badly - a friend told me it was my ammo. maybe choose wisely which ammo you use for the first little while..

Thanks guys. I ordered mine through Dusty's Firearms. They're based in Tennessee. Boomsticks was the FFL I had it shipped to. It's primarily for target, I would assume. It only has 10 round magazines, but I don't see why it wouldn't be just fine for shooting an intruder in your home. Nutnfancy did a tactical shooting thing with one of them and he seemed to like it, IIRC.

It looks like a hoot to shoot, I just wondered where its niche is, who is using them and for what.

I had one of the older models in 9mm and that thing jammed all the time. I tried a bunch of different rounds in it and none of them fed well. End up selling it. Hope you have a better experience than me.

I went to a range and put 50 rounds through it without a problem.

Looks nice. I'd like to get a pistol carbine sort of like that. Hi Point seems to be the only one making those anymore. I have a thing about using Hi Point anything on the grounds of their pistols. What are the carbines like?
