Yeah that one took me by surprise.

I hate to see stuff like this happen no matter what your political stance..

Seems to small to be a foreign act?

It's definitely tragic. But I have opinions/comments about it that I don't care to say -- don't really want to rile people up...

why you asking b ?
I thing that bugs me is the Fox network guys like oreilly is bombing on Obama for calling it a "tragedy". now I don't like Obama but out of all the things you can talk about on this subject they go right to "Obama calls it a tragedy, a bus accident is a tragedy,, blahblaaaah" just sucks that big R boys are pulling the same **** over and over.

My two cents on this is people need to be watchful, I spent 2 years "working" shoulder to shoulder with the IDF and one thing I really like about their culture is people are aware of there surroundings. For instance if a person walks by a bag or package, say in an airport that is just sitting there with no one around and they don't report it, they get jail time. You couldn't even set your bag and make it two steps away from before people would be yelling. They are conditioned to bombs which I am glad we in America are not but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be aware of what is around you. Is anyone at fault? **** no. The bastard or bastards that planted these bombs could have done it anyways, just like bombings in Israel. I really think that this is the beginning of something. That's just my spider sense going off

Well, no matter what Obama says, people will criticize. I, for one, find his sympathy meaningless... just as empty as his words. But this is really tragic, sad, and makes one be just a bit more vigilant. I just hope they don't politicize this thing. Call it what it is, a senseless, cowardly terrorist act and an attack on our sovereignty. My heart and prayers go out to those affected by this horrible event.

I've already heard enough conspiracies, and the talking heads are already pointing fingers at each other criticizing the very words used in speeches. Jeezus ******* god people. This is a time to unite in the wake of a tragedy, not create more division in an already divisive time.

When I first saw it my reaction was, "Well, if this doesn't convince policy-makers that the American public should be armed and ready, what will?"

When I heard the first person talking about how this type of thing happens in an open country like ours -- emphasizing "open" -- I realized this will probably go the other way.

But assuming everything happened the way it's being reported, what was the end goal? And maybe it's just because I'm not a psycho, but I don't get it. They didn't set the thing off during the point where the most people would be hit -- it was waaaaaaay after the winners had long gone (and the crowd with them).

I'm confused. It was clearly a tragedy, but what was the purpose? To heighten marathon security? Was there a specific target? Did it malfunction and that's why it went off an hour after the winners were done? I realize it was an attack but I don't see a motive and, as far as I know, no one has taken responsibility. But it's a great opportunity to flex our patriot act muscles. *sarcasm* I think this will be turned into one more point for why we oughta live in a totalitarian surveillance society.
Idiots:
Lets be more like the UK! We need a CCTV camera in every room of every building hooked up to a giant centralized database so we know what the bad guys are doing!

Actually they're saying it was timed for the biggest impact, ie the biggest crowd isn't present when the winners finish, but the biggest throng of people that can't run it in just over two hours finishes, along with all their friends & family are waiting for them.

That does nothing to explain the why though.

I didn't bring it up becaues it really doesn't have anything to do with guns. But I can see some people trying to twist this and use it as a reason for more gun control. Not sure how yet, but I'm sure old Bloomberg will find a way.

My God. Barney Frank is such a total piece of ****. His comments, and the timing of them say a lot about him. None of it good.
