Where to buy ammo

Looking for places to buy ammo in the Vancouver, Clark County, NE Portland areas. Ive been to Bi-Mart, Sportsmans Wharehouse, Big 5, Fishermans Marine, and Wal Mart and had some luck. But obviously the supply vs the demand is not in my favor right now when it comes to 9mm. Is there anywhere else that I should be checking. Big box store or small shop. I'm new to firearms ownership and not familiar with everywhere in the area that I can go.

Thanks

Daryl

I just hit up Cabela's on Monday and they had some stuff, but not much. Plenty of 30-06, but no decent .308 or .223/5.56.

At least some stuff is indeed popping up from time to time now.

Sold Out of everything it seems. Damn DHS! This crap has GOT to STOP!:censored:

Ya, but they have been getting it in on a regular basis. I have gunbot running all of the time in recent months looking for .223/5.56 & I have picked up about 3000rds from AIM since February. I coulda gotten a lot more from them, but I ain't got that much money!

What are people's thoughts on remanufactured ammo? I see remanufactured and all I think of is recapped tires. I drive truck and there is a night and day between the safety and reliability of new and recapped tires. Just wondering if the remanufactured ammo is the same thing?

I like this gunbot. Ill have to start watching it for good deals.
Just leave a browser window open for each caliber you want to shoot and set the price you're willing to pay, per round. It'll alert you when they hit -- but you need to be quick about it. Any dilly dallying and you'll very likely miss the price.

What does DHS have to do with anything?

Or do you seriously think DHS is stopping by your local Walmart buying up the ammo as it hits the shelf?
I don't think that's what he's saying. The idea isn't that the civilian ammo is being gobbled up -- it's that their orders are massive and are consuming the manufacturing companies resources. They're so buy making it for the gov't that can't keep up with demand for civilians...

So what everyone is saying is that the internet is the best place to find ammo.
Best place to find it if you're looking for decent quantities. But you have to consider shipping in your price...

Everyone's got their opinion. I personally don't mind shooting it when it comes from a reputable source. I've bought and shot many thousands with little to no trouble at all...

keith's sporting goods in gresham is well stocked. Not as cheap as online, but if you need something quick, I would check there.

Remanufactured is great for cheap plinking ammo, and if you just want to run off a bunch of rounds. I would not use it for defensive purposes though. Stick with premium self-defense stuff for that.

It won't hurt your gun at all to shoot the remanufactured stuff. Just be aware that it might not function as reliably as brand new ammo.
