I've got a spot you can clean up, its was an open shooting are but was recently closed down, probably due to littering. The ground is littered with shells, broken clay pigeons, and other trash. Its a gravel pit right outside Sultan, WA. Off of Hwy2, while traveling East, take a left on Sultan Basin Rd. Drive a mile or two down the road until you reach 116th St, take a left. Then its about a quarter mile down the road, through a yellow gate. About 100 yards past the gate the gravel pit will be on your left. Thank you for your efforts. |

I honestly have no idea about any spots that need cleaned up around here, but if you find them, post up and I'll be there to help if I can.

I just remembered another area thats been trashed. Behind the main library in Marysville is a small woodland area, a square mile at the most. I used to play back there when I was a kid. I went back there a couple years ago to reminisce and the place was ruined. Most of the trees were spray painted, beer cans and trash everywhere. If you're interested in that spot, I could make a trip over there to be sure it still exists, they could have bulldozed the area by now for all i know. And again, let me know if you would like more details. This is a damn cool thing you guys do! |

Thanks for the input, we're scheduled out through June...but in May we'll look at locations for the following 3 months. So I'll keep those in mind! Here's the locations coming up; - March 27th, East of Salem in Silverton State park there is a recreational shooting area that needs cleaning. - April 24th(earth day - 22nd) I received an email from a Central Oregon hunter disgusted with dumping that's taking place on public land where he hunts, including items like regular garbage and a hot tub. Horse Butte Road FS RD 1815 China Hat Rd-FS RD 18 It's SE of Bend in the Deschutes National Forest. - May 15th another group of local WA recreation shooters is requesting help on a cleanup they're trying to organize; Info: Gravel Pit Cleanup Location: (North Fork Gravel Pit in Whatcom County) Date: May 15, 2010 Time: 0830 - June (exact date?) Received report of an area near Pigsah Home Rd. in the hills about 5 miles west of Scappoose. Debris includes TVs, Propane tanks, wood frames, etc. Come join us if you can! |
