.308 ar

So I'm thinking about building one for fun but I'm not exactly sure where to start with the parts? When I built my AR most everything came from Del-Ton and I was extremely happy with their service and the quality of their product, unfortunately they don’t offer anything for the .308 setup. I plan on building this over the course of a few months, but it as I can afford it. I would like to find the lower locally so I don’t have to go through the hassle of having it shipped to an FFL and pay the $50 transfer fee. Everything else I would like to try to find online, so I’m wondering if there are any good sites out there that yall might recommend to start building this puppy piece by piece.

I looked into building one, but they seem to be fairly proprietary.. (not as interchangeable as the .223's)

By the time you get the parts, you pretty much have spent more than just waiting for a deal and picking up a new one?
