Hey fellas, I'm building a AR from a stripped RRA lower I just pickedup So Im thinking a light weight 16 inch setup. Probably gonna pull the 6 postion butstock off my stag arms 20inch and put the magpul precision on there.. SO couple questions. Does anyone have a LPK laying around. I'm thinking of just picking up a RR kit with the two stage trigger. I have a jard kit with about 3lbs of pull in my 20" I'm thinking I want around 4 for this one? AND if youve seen any slick 16 inch setups recently I'd love to see them.. I'm thinking flat top, w/a short picitinny forgrip. maybe a gasblock w/out a fixxed site.. Maybe gonna put a eotech on it? Let the suggestions begin! |

For a tactical rifle, don't use a 2 stage trigger. You want that tight, crisp feel of a heavier trigger. Save the 2 stage and light pull for the precision setup. As for an LPK, they're readily available now. It'll cost you about $85, but they're fairly easy to get a hold of now. |

I've had 2 LPK's on backorder from Rguns for almost 2 months. I ordered a second for my brother in law but he has found one locally and bought it. So I'm stuck with 2. If you haven't bought yours by the time mine gets in I'll sell it for exactly what I paid and ship it to ya! It was $60.00 plus shipping. Let me know if you're interested. |

last WAC show I went to, even at 1pm when Jason and I left, MULTIPLE tables still had MULTIPLE LPK's laying around. I'm going to give my 2 cents on LPK's right now, you can take it for what its worth, or just say I'm nuts. I personally like DPMS LPK's better than RRA. In fact, I like DPMS better than any other I've tried. The parts are much more precise. The Detents are also the best I've worked with. I replaced the detents in all my guns with the DPMS ones, with there springs, as they were much more smooth. RRA's are a bit pointed and can "stick" if you don't clean them and the pins up very well (same with the safety selector). Pieces that I have replaced with DPMS parts from my RRA and other kits are the following. Detents and Springs Mag Release Safety Selector |

Not sure if you found what ya wanted, but here are some retail packaged DPMS LPK's for $70.00! PK Firearms | Online Store I wish I would have remembered this thread yesterday. They had Sabre Defense 16" stainless fluted barrel flat top uppers with a DD lite rail & BCG for $830.00. You said you wanted a slick 16" setup, that would have been it. I was considering one myself, but I really shouldn't spend the money right now. Last edited by FatFugg; 05-21-2009 at 08:24 PM. |

My new lower is completely assembled, and the hunt for the perfect upper has begun.. I'm thinking about a spikes tactical, vltor vis setup, maybe a POF upper... I want a fluted barrel, and strongly integrated upper w/ picitinny forgrip Last edited by sunofnun; 05-28-2009 at 03:40 PM. |

I have a Spikes upper. Love it. No fluted barrel. I tossed on a LaRue Tactical 10" rail... it's good to go. :) |

I'm gonna hold out for something a little more exotic. What are your thoughts on D.D. vs Larue vs spikes.. I assume spikes is the lesser of the three..

If I was building a dream AR I would either go with a VLTOR monolithic or a Viking Tactics upper! Last edited by FatFugg; 06-03-2009 at 11:07 AM.

I gave him $900 for the upper. and it was local so it was FTF no shipping! I think he got it from saber. He had all the original paperwork and warranty. Never fired.

Sweet rifles. Makes me want to add a railed mid length to my collection. They are alot of fun to build. Just need to find a thousand or so dollars in dryer next load. Your upper cost more than the whole rifle I just built btw ![]() How do like those Magpul sights? Thought about getting a rear one, but settled on an MI. |

I think they're cool.. I have a MI rear BUIS on my 20" I haven't sited it in yet, so the jury is still out.. I picked up the set for around $90-100 I think... so they're cheap! I think they're kinda cool, and like the way they flip up, spring loaded.. As far as panning the rifle and acquiring targets they seem really cool... lots of later visibility. If they site in well, and I can group with them I may keep it a iron site shooter for a bit. I have an aimpoint clone to drop on there.. but I kinda like the stripped down look. I'll post up a range report if I ever get to go shooting again! lol
