I called the ATF to talk to them about an FFL today. They said the first thing to do is to call the county and see if I could get a license to operate a business in my home. I asked a few more questions hung up and called the county. The lady at the county said ...."Have you heard this one? The IRS wants to put a section in their returns that requires you give serial numbers of each gun you own and you will pay $25 for each of them" I said "Hitler did that just before he collected all of the guns. Once he knew where they were he just went around and got them all." She said "I know" Has anyone heard of this? Last edited by GregM; 09-23-2009 at 12:40 PM. |

nope But as a business its inventory so i can see the IRS doing that What ive read by just doing a quick research for you is to keep your business guns separate from your personal collection IRS Taxes inventory at hand so put away the tin hat for now they are NOT registering your personal weapons but your inventory stock If you are ever audited make sure they know that you are operating LEAN and that you take orders and deliver the weapon and that you keep absolutely NO stock on hand Use paper to cover your ass document every sale Keep a separate file for personal use Last edited by KillermondoDude; 09-23-2009 at 12:51 PM. |

Thankfully this one is not true.....yet But that's just how the bastards have been and are doing it One tiny step at a time. Everyone thinks "it's ok it's just a little thing" (until you look back over the long haul and see how much our rights have been eroded.) I keep talking with the wife about what I call "The Tipping Point" That point at which some or all of us say "Hey BS!" and start shooting. Will it ever happen? I keep thinking of that Disney series in the 50s Johnny Tremain The Brits and the Americans were squared off in that town square, staring each other down until that one shot was fired by no one knows who (or which side) and all hell broke loose |

I believe this is what she was talking about: H.R.45: Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 - U.S. Congress - OpenCongress H.R. 45: Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 (GovTrack.us) Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax form all guns that you have or own. It may require fingerprints and a tax of $50 per gun. | This bill was introduced on Feb.. 24. This bill will become public knowledge 30 days after it is voted into law. This is an amendment to the Internal Revenue Act of 1986. This means that the Finance Committee can pass this without the Senate voting on it at all. | The full text of the proposed amendment is on the U.S. Senate homepage,U.S. Senate You can find the bill by doing a search by the bill number, SB-2099. | You know who to call; I strongly suggest you do. Please send a copy of this e-mail to every gun owner you know.| | | <http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h45/text| | | Congress is now starting on the firearms confiscation bill. If it passes, gun owners will become criminals if you don't fully comply. | | It has started. | | Very Important for you to be aware of a new bill HR 45 introduced into the House. This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009.| | | Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because the government is trying to fly it under the radar. | | To find out about this - go to any government website and type in HR 45 or Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009. You will get all the information. | | Basically this would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless: | |It is registered -You are fingerprinted -You supply a current Driver's License -You supply yourSocial Security # -You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their choosing -Each update - change or ownership through private or public sale must be reported and costs $25 - Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and are subject up to a year in jail. -There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a child-access provision. Gun must be locked and inaccessible to any child under 18. -They would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs. in prison. | | If you think this is a joke - go to the website and take your pick of many options to read this. It is long and lengthy. But, more and more people are becoming aware of this. Pass the word along. Any hunters in your family pass this along.| | | This is just a "termite" approach to complete confiscation of guns and disarming of our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes it. | | This is one to act on whether you own a gun or not. |

yes health care reform is a lie. Obama has already made changes such as the Census Bureau no longer reports to congress, it reports to Obama. You may think that is insignificant however who do you think draws all the maps that decides who we vote on based on population? Hmmm the census. Now instead of the senate and congress voting to aprove the new congressional districts every decade, now Obama has to approve them...it's only the beginning. |

Another one to watch for california is voting right now on the register your ammo bill. Instead of banning guns they will make it so you cant buy the ammo, just another spin

Found it on Snopes... snopes.com: Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act While it is true that the bill is current, there are no co-sponsors. It will die like the one before it in 2007. |

If you read further, the SB 2099 was a bill introduced in 2000 and did not make it out of commitee. I would not worry about these bills any more. Of course keep vigilant but I do not think there is going to be any dangerous anti-gun legislation for a while.
