Assault Weapons ban (Dianne Feinstein)

I figured a lot of you would like to read up on what will be proposed. I doubt this will pass due to the amount of job it would kill. Not to mention it will be killed in Congress.

The 'assault weapons' ban is joke. Not that I really need to point that out here. But if you want some 'ammo' against the anti-gun crowd, this blog is a great read, and explains exactly why the AWB didn't work and never will, as well as debunking pretty much every anti-gun myth.

Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:
Background check of owner and any transferee;
Type and serial number of the firearm;
Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and
Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration

SCARY RIGHT

Actually I think the fact that it's so overreaching lessens its chance of passing. I don't think anyone in congress hasn't forgotten the political fallout from the last AWB, and this one would make instant felons out of potentially millions of people (aka voters).

So check out this video with some more details on the proposed ban.

Assault Weapons Ban 2013 - YouTube

As scary as it sounds, I just can't see it passing, it's way too much. I just don't see Americans standing for this. I sure can't see many if any Republicans voting for this, and well like I said before, I can't imagine the Democrats have forgotten what happened last time, and this is far, fare more onerous than the previous AWB.

I think I have maybe one gun that pass muster on the this ban, an 870 Wingmaster shotgun. Even my venerable old Ruger 10/22 would be banned, as it's a semi-auto and can accept mags over 10 rounds. Colossally stupid.

I actually HOPE it gets proposed as written. Simply because it's so ludicrous it'll get shot down way fast. The legislation I'd be more concerned about would be minor "insignificant" changes. Those are the ones that could pass the easiest.

But this piece of garbage is so ridiculous, that it'll never pass. And the beauty is it'll be an all or nothing thing. And even though I'm saying all this stuff, I have to be honest and say I still have worry...

I would agree with being concerned with this type of legislation even being considered. I can't see this thing actually getting passed cause its just insane and would put a major portion of the firearms industry out of business. This of all the sporting events that would instantly become illegal or too hard to participate in. Gun stores and ranges would go out of business cause it is just too hard to transport or keep guns. I have maybe 2 guns that would actually pass which are a 44mag revolver and a double barrel shotgun, but that is it!

What concerns me more then anything is that a sitting member of congress would want a bill like this that blatantly limits a constitution right. Its not like its the 15th or the 16th amendment its the bloody 2nd. Lost the 2nd amendment and you can sure as shit see them try and limit religion then freedom of the press. Soon we live in a communist state with no freedom of religion, press, or speech. I'm not a huge Christian or anything, but I would never limit the person next to me from going to the place he wants to go to worship his or spiritual beliefs. If you want to believe in Satan or worship Zenu then have fun cause we live in the land of the free and the home of the brave!

I have an idea lets just switch the good old stars and stripes into the sickle and hammer while we are limiting our bill of rights and murdering our values.... I swear there have to be some older Congressmen that have got to be fuming over legislation like this.

I figured I would post this up for some of you to sign.

You know, I hadn't actually read that blog posting until today. It was extremely well written and I'll be sharing it with others.

Good find!
