We've just set various objects on top of the bottle of mixture.. I know it'll take a small propane tank and turn half of it inside out! Two of the small ones together make a real good bang.. ( I think that is the same as one big one, I just never get 'em..) | |

I looked, and it looks like, with shipping, you can get the smallest kit for like $35... anyone know if that includes haz-mat fees? |

Ah tannerite, good times... Miguel has had some from time to time... typically we fill small plastic bottles with it and shoot them with a pistol/rifle. Very nifty results! I highly recommend it. |

Back from my annual camp trip.. and just like the last three years, I brought some tanerite. That stuff is so damn fun!! It is my understanding that it' needs 2200+ fps to set it off properly. The last few years, we've used my brothers 22 Hornet. Does a fantastic job!! |

Im not sure a .17 will light it off. They say a .223 minimum. Splitting wood YouTube - Splitting wood with Tannerite Propane tank YouTube - Blowing up garbage left at the pit Wife shooting a microwave YouTube - blowup |

Not the size or weight of the bullet, just how fast it is going at impact. With that said, if you are gonna try the .17 HMR, I'd make sure to use the 17 grain V-max round. It looks to be the only one that is still going 2200+ at 50 yards. We've set ours off at 40 yards, and I do not think it'd be prudent to be much closer.. ![]() *Rifle specs* .17 HMR, 17 grain V-Max = MV 2550 fps, 2380 fps at 50 yards, 1900 fps at 100 yards, 1620 fps at 150 yards, 1378 fps at 200 yards. .17 HMR, 20 grain XTP = MV 2375 fps, 2051 fps at 50 yards, 1754 fps at 100 yards, 1492 at 150 yards, 1273 fps at 200 yards. The average Hornet round is actually not much faster than the 17HMR.. BALLISTICS FOR: .22 Hornet CARTRIDGE BULLET MFG. WT. FPS@ MUZZ/100 YDS/200 YDS/300 YDS/400 YDS/500 YDS. (S) 34/35 HP 3100 2278 1601 1135 929 811 (S) 45 SP 2690 2042 1502 1128 948 840 (hi) 45 SP 2526 2029 1597 1256 1044 927 (SB) 45 SP 2346 1657 1175 947 825 732 (S) 45/46 HP 2690 2042 1502 1128 948 841 (SB) 45 FMJ 2346 1657 1175 947 825 732 And like I said... it worked excellent! Yea there's no Hazmat fee It comes in 2 containers that you mix and shake and put it up and boom.. You can get it from alot of online gun sites, also places like gunbroker.com You gotta be careful they're coming down on people blowing shit up, people have been blowing up cars, fridges etc and you can get in alot of trouble if you get caught, there was a guy not too long ago that actually got charged with blowing up a dump truck or something.
