Close Quarters Confrontations: $600

Course Designer: Greg Hamilton & John HolschenThe majority of law enforcement officers are killed in confrontations that take place at under seven feet. The only answer given for how to win in these situations is "just shoot 'em." If it's that easy, why do officers keep getting killed? What we need is a fighting system that allows the defender to instantly and reflexively employ either deadly or non-deadly force.

You will learn a full unarmed combat system and an integrated firearms combat system. The course can be physically demanding depending on how hard you try, but everyone should come regardless of age or physical condition. You will only be asked to do what you can. The course will make extensive use of striking bags and protective padded suits (FIST gear) and you will be striking "opponents" with everything you have in combat simulations.

This is a good course but take their Gerneral Defensive Handgun first if you haven't had any formal training

Now this course just sounds bad ass.

I took it earlier this year. It's a very good course. Most of my training is still on the company dime but that dime is shrinking significantly. I try to pay my own way to at least one school a year and if I was dropping the cash, this would be it.

John Holschen (the instructor) is one bad mofo. I took a 3 day defensive folding knife class with him in December and I left more battered and bruised than any real fight I had ever been in. Totally worth it 'cause I started the course with near zero knowledge of the subject matter and left with a real set of skills and muscle memory that I can depend on. Probably taking this CQC course, just not sure if I wanna spend the $600 on 223 ammo or not. Running low!

This class is very much worth it. I've known John for over 10 years and he is one of the best instructors and nicest guys I have ever met. Completely humble and all about making sure you get what you need out of the class.
