But oh worth it. :)

SBR or Suppressor or both?

thejrod 01-29-2015 01:25 PM

Silencer.

Roll your own is the best way to do an SBR now - only 1 month wait!

To purchase a silencer or SBR, you have to do an ATF Form 4 - it's a paper form and the current wait is 3.5-6 months (a lot are coming back at the 4 month mark now).
To make an SBR (or silencer for that matter), it's a Form 1, which is electronic and only takes about 30-45 days.

Here's a good write-up on ar15.com: Complete Guide of how to complete a Form 1 -

In a nutshell, setup a trust, pay the man $200, wait a month for approval, engrave your receiver, build SBR.

Well you're on your own on that. It's hard to imagine a self-built can rivaling a commercial one in performance, weight and durability.

OH.. I thought you were getting paperwork and making one! lol
Yeah.. I agree.. not easy to build on your own.

Nah, I just bought mine. FYI silencershop and Hot Gates Armory are super cool to work with.
