Just got her done this weekend. I was expecting something a little more challenging to be truthful but it was still a lot of fun.

I threw on the iron sights wrong, but I was in a hurry to go to sleep at that point so didn't care anymore. :vroam:

Yep nice.. lowers are pretty easy to put together.

Uppers and staking/pinning the bolts are a little trickier.

nice work. We expect a range report!!

About 600 once it was all said and done. Probably could have gotten it in a bit cheaper but I was being impatient and didn't feel like waiting on an upper assembly to go on sale.

Surplus Ammo and Arms in Tacoma. :top:

The next build is going to be an AR-9 pistol so I will have to search around a bit more to see what I can find.:hmmmm2:

We shall see though. I only know of Rainier Arms and SAA for me locally for AR stuff and then I got my side arms from Mary's Pistols in Tacoma.

Took the wife to the range this weekend and got to put about 200 rounds down range with the AR. a few seating errors on the first mag but after that no problems.

I apparently can't hit anything with the cheap iron sites I picked up on amazon so I may be looking into a scope or other optic, but that's a ways off.

The wife is now leaning on me to build another for her so we don't have to swap out.:top:

All in all I will say I am happy with the first build.

you might want to check out Palmetto State Armory for the AR9 pistol build, they have really decent stuff at good prices. I built my first AR with parts from there as I was on a tight budget, and ended up with a serious tack driver for a lot less than I could have bought one for.

anyhow, congrats on your first build, it looks great!
