I have officially joined the dark side and must i say.... it feels good. I'm in pretty good with the guy at my local gun shop and he decided to sell his Argentine Sistema after it got a fresh paint job. This gun has all aftermarket parts and a trigger job, all of which were done by Springer Precision. They did the paint as well. this thing is suweet and Lots o' gun porn incoming!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

My Kimber has a Full-length rod, only because it came with it, and it's not enough of an inconvenience for me to justify changing it. But honestly I prefer the plunger/bushing arrangement. Makes field-stripping easier.

I'm gonna have to disagree, I just changed my springfield 1911a1 mil spec to a full length guide rod after having to replace two recoil springs that got kinked up and were wearing the underside of the barrel and chewing up the standard length guide rod and plug. I kept all the parts and can take photos if no one believes me. I should note that even with the spring in that condition it still functioned fine with no malfunctions in over 2500 rounds, eventually the guide rod would have worn through the spring but that would be a long time coming. The slide operates smoother now too since my plug was rubbing the inside of the spring. |

the good thing about this 1911 is that there are absolutely no stock parts in it. fully aftermarket done by Springer Precision and is supposed to be a real Nail Driver. I guess we shall see on saturday when I get some range time with it.

I'm not entirely sure what you were getting at Bruce lol. I don't even own that Sistema anymore. I do however own a Kimber Custom II and a Detonics Servicemaster now. The 1911 Kool-aid is far sweeter than anything served in tupperware!

nice work! Your hands look about like mine.. hamsize. I like it w/out a beavertail, just watch out for a kiss from the slide. I've scored a few of those on one of my dad's argentinians. |

I did recently have a BDA 45... very nice condition and a Tysons Corner P220.. Sold them both.. looking for a 45 to customize... (can't do that with Sig's) Now have a Colt 1991 ORM and a Kimber Custom Covert II..(Trying to sell before I go break it in..).. But I do like the 1911 style guns much better... I am torn between customizing the Colt or keeping the Kimber.... Last edited by bigggbbruce; 05-03-2011 at 10:20 AM. |

She shot pretty well but as with any toy, you grow old of them after a while. I've put almost 1k through the Kimber and almost as many through the Detonics and love them both. I mostly shoot the Servicemaster any more as it's my carry gun and I've dumped enough money into it at the gunsmith to make it exactly what I wanted.
