Have not shot it yet, but I will post a full review when I get the time to shoot it. Im thinking about doing that this weekend. I waited a bit to buy it just due to some people saying it had feed and some other little issues.

Oh and it feels great in your hand!

cheers

At 21.5 oz. in .45acp, it might not be an ideal range gun, but to "Pull & Pop" in a self defense situation, I think you have a winner

Yeah my 1911 is a good range gun, but I only have this as my small conceal carry.

Sadly I still have not found the time to shoot it haha. I have a couple new toys I need to shoot and write some reviews on. Thinking that if work goes the way I need it to this week I will shoot it within the next couple days.

I have a better idea. Let me use it and I'll have a couple hundred rounds through it by the end of the weekend with a full review posted. ;)

Alrighty well I braved the storm and made it to the range... Shot a couple of my toys while I was there. The 1911 got a few rounds as well as the XD and yes the XDs!

As far as the XDs goes it is a great short range gun. Fires a tad low, but then I realized it has a really short barrel so it is easy to compensate for. Im sure once I get a couple hundred more rounds threw her I will be a bit better on accuracy.

The XDs shoots great, but does have the tendency to want to walk in your hand a bit (you can see this in the video when I readjust my grip). You really have to hold on, but it shoots very smooth. Its not a girlie small carry gun. This thing is a mans compact and needs some man handling when operating it. I was only shooting with the 5 round mags since I did not get the 7 round mags soon enough(delayed shipping). I'm sure if I had the extended 7 round mags the accuracy would be much better along with control. I do have large hands so this is a tiny gun for me.

If you guys have any questions feel free to ask! I loved this thing and it shot perfect every single time. Not one malfunction at all and we put about 300 rounds through it today. I'm hoping to make it back and put another 300 or 400 through it next time out. Getting my groups down on it would be awesome since this is gonna be my daily conceal carry gun.

Video is below along with some pics.

Good review.

I have some Talon grips on order for the Shield (I'll post a review once I get them put on and used) but the XDS didn't look like it could really take anything like them -- they're already so aggressively textured.

You can get two different grips from Springfield for the XDs. They make a larger and smaller size depending on how your hand fits. Its been a tad hard to find stuff for the XDs since its so new. I will probably order the larger size and get the extended mags.

As far as a carry weapon I would trust it with my life. Its pretty acurate for a 3.3in barrel.
