Need ur Oregon CCW read this...

The Maryland handgun training satisfies the handgun training requirement for Grant County. You can take this ONLINE class for FREE. You still have to fill out the Oregon required forms & fingerprints but the class is free.

There is no cost for taking this course and it should take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Maryland Online Training Course - MD Firearms Safety Training

BTW.. Sheriff Palmer of Grant County was at the Puyallup Gun Show and took over 700 applications for the Oregon CHL today.

You can download the Grant County Sheriff CHL Application as well.
The CHL will still cost you $65 ($50 to the Sheriff / $15 to the State Patrol)

Be sure to pass this along to any other boards you might be a member of.....

Way to go Sheriff!!!!

Dan

Do you still have to show up in person to apply or can you mail it in? I don't think I want to drive all the way over there for that. My brother lives in Newberg, and I was thinking about applying in Yamhill Co. He said the sheriff there is pro-carry. I just have to go visit during business hours on a week day. (I already took the NRA class).

Grant County is John Day area does not cover Pendleton...non Oregon residents can apply in any county...

Sheriffs in Oregon have the right to deny non residents for any reason they see fit, and some have even said they will not issue for non resident period...Oregon is basically a MAY ISSUE state when it comes to non residents....

Grant County Sheriff will issue to non residents that pass the background check..He is even going to Washington Gun shows to take applications...

hope this clears it up
