Hello guys, there is a possibility that my next employment will be in Washington. If I move and bring all my firearms (pistols, rifles and shotguns) do I need to register all my toys? How soon can I start buying firearms? CA requires 90 days residency and proof of residence, is it the same in WA? Would WA DOJ accept my California ID? TIA. ETA - and revolvers as well. There is NO registration of any kind in WA. You can buy LONG GUNS in ANY state at anytime from an FFL (if they are legal in the state of buying and the state of your ID). You dont even have to live in that state. You will not be able to buy a handgun, or NFA items in WA without a WA license/residency. From what I read it looks like you wont have to wait to buy a handgun, but.... if you dont have a CPL there is a 5 day waiting period before you can pick it up. If you are a new resident WA has up to 60 days to issue you a CPL. Here are all the WA laws and they are much easier to read then the CA ones, Chapter 9.41 RCW: Firearms and dangerous weapons Much shorter too |

WA laws are easier to read that I find it hard to believe if it's true. ![]() Now I understand why some non CA FFL does not want to deal with us. |
