Triangle Gravel Pit in the Capitol State Forest is located near the junction of Waddell Creek and Sherman Roads.

8am Meeting place will be Dirt lot at Waddell Creek Rd & 105th ave Sw, Olympia WA

This event is hosted by Project Wilderness & coordinated with Washington DNR. Volunteers need to wear rugged shoes & bring gloves (leather gloves recommended). Water & BBQ lunch will be provided.

Thanks Dsolie! We're expecting a great turnout...possibly 30 or more. Encourage your friends to come meet some fellow enthusiast, help keep the pit open & clean while having a good time! Oh and free lunch!

For safety reasons the pit will be officially closed by the DNR for October 24th. Signs are currently posted notifying users who traffic the area.

I've been told there are a couple other smaller pits in the area though. Those will open as usual.

Just wanted to remind everyone this cleanup will take place this Sat Oct 24th rain or shine! Lunch provided.

Also there are some great projects in the works in conjunction ODFW & Forest Service for riparian & forest habitat restoration in 2010. Hood County & Tillamook County. Feel free to email, call or PM me if you'd like to be involved with planning or implementation. Public input is welcome.
