why you asking b ?
I wanted to start a thread that people(not just Marines) could post there questions/thoughts/etc..
I will start with some of my own guidelines

1. Realize that every Marine wants to kill what he/she is looking at, so be great full that he/she is just staring at you with "that look on his/her face"
2. Realize that he/she has lived there life as a enemy hunter, which means that the rest of there life is governed by chasing the same "high"
3. Just cause you where in the Navy and yes we are in the same department, Marines are just on the men's floor, doesn't mean you are a Marine. There is only one exception, and that is a Marine Corpsmen(or DOC for us few) and he must choose to be on the Green side of things.
4. Memorial Day is for those who have served and DIED. Veteran's Day is for those who have served and lived. Memorial day is a day to remember the people that have paid for our freedom WITH their lives.
5. Realize that Honor, Courage, and Commitment are not just things you get trained on in bootcamp, Marines live these Corps values everyday. If you know a Marine that doesn't live these values it's for two reasons. One they have demons left over from killing, or they are **** birds from jump street.
6. A Lance Coolie can teach you many things, one thing is that, things that are not supposed to be shot or blown up, are really cool when they are shot or blown up.
7. A lieutenant saying "Listen up Marines, this is how we are going to do it" never leads to a good thing.
8. Marines feel more comfortable in fire team numbers, so except him to have at least 3 kids, or 3 dogs, or 3 friends..etc..
8. P.O.G means Personal Other than Grunt
9... Please add your own........

-Never underestimate the destructive potential of a Marine.

-There is no such thing as a "friendly game of...". Everything is full contact, bare knuckle, eye gouging, tripping, and dirty trick rules. When Marines play a sport with each other, they always call it "battle" or "combat" whatever. This is not an exaggeration. I've played full contact "combat" volleyball. On gravel. On a court surrounded by concertina wire.

-There is no such thing as a "measured response". Always assume that things will escalate quickly, and with disproportionate results.

-A Marine will **** anything that isn't moving too fast, or hasn't started to cool.

-Marines are experts at "Mickey Mouse Games". Payback is a medevac..

-Marines don't forget anything, including insults or friendships. Nothing is more loyal than the jarhead next to you, or more tenacious than the one you fucked over.

-Marines will constantly harrass their Corpsman. But no one else will..
