So I just checked ammo prices for the first time in about 3 months or so. I was kind of hoping they would be slightly lower. Nope I have found that they seem to be on average 400% or higher then normal non crazy liberals gonna take your guns talk times. I was wondering if anyone out there has found ammo at reasonable prices or is all ammo just wayyyyyyyyyy over priced?

I guess I'm worried that prices will just stay high for an extremely long time.....

Did some more research, but I still found everything for 5.56 about 120% higher then normal.

What calibers are you looking for?

I have gotten .223/5.56, .40 & .45ACP at pre-Sandy Hook prices.

Walmart, Sportsmanswarehouse & www.aimsurplus.com have been good to me over the past eight months!

Yea stores seem to be that way. Cabelas has steel case for 6.99/20 and PNC and American Eagle fro about 11.99/20. I've found .40 cal around 18.95 tho. Annoying thing is my .44mag ammo currently costs about $2 per bullet at Cabelas and .22 ammo is wayyyyy over priced. .17hmr is almost non-existent still.

I've got .223 brass and reloading supplies coming out of my ears tho so I havent been all that worried there.

I have plenty of ammo I was just curious on the prices and seem to be kind of surprised they are still as high as they are. Cabelas seemed pretty fair, but Federal bulk ammo is still double what the prices were before Sandy Hoax. I found 7.62x39 for pretty cheap, but then again it's still kinda pricey when it comes to steel cased ammo. Maybe another 6 months and prices will drop back to normal.

It's coming back down, but still not where it was. I heard from a coworker Cabela's had some 9mm FMJ for $10.99 which isn't bad.

I bought some .22 from Midway for "regular prices" a few weeks ago, just got it in yesterday. Regular prices, plus shipping, etc, so it was still expensive.

It's out there, slowly coming back.

Any of you guys know where to come by any .17hmr? Preferably anything but Winchester rounds.

I'll keep an eye out. Might be checking out what a friend has in his stockpile tomorrow. I will see if there is any .17hmr...

I know my buddy has a pretty extensive stockpile. He picks up a lot of ammo from estate sales and anytime he sees something on sale he grabs it. He always says if it all falls apart ammo could be like currency....

Sportsmans Warehouse in Puyallup has had it frequently enough that i've seriously considered buying one.

A rifle or the ammo? They're great guns. Excellent groups @100 yards. Easily take gofers and such a ways past that as well.

My last groups were about 4 shots in the space of Lincoln's head on a penny at 100 yards. You won't be disappointed with the accuracy. Velocity is about 1200 fps over a .22.

as long as the wind isn't blowing!!!!
